Cameron Jackson, a former division one college athlete and young, black entrepreneur is the CEO of Millennial Park. This is a restaurant and entertainment center in Mid City Baton Rouge, LA made out of industrial shipping containers. He acquired land on Florida Blvd. from his grandfather which is now known as Millennial Park.
Raised in Houston, TX, Jackson saw food trucks in open parks where hundreds gathered daily to socialize and eat. Previous trips to Jamaica sparked Jackson's interest to develop a restaurant and open-air dining space in a unique way.
"I felt like there was more opportunity in Baton Rouge [than Houston]. Why not go back to the city that I was born in?" said Jackson.
Within the first year of opening Millennial Park, Jackson partnered with developers to in Baton Rouge to open a second location.
"I want to have everything here so there is something for everyone," said Jackson.
During the first year of business, Jackson has been featured in/on the following: The Advocate, Business Report, Carvd n Stone, News Break, The Louisiana Weekend, WBRZ, WAFB, Fox News, BRProud, Weekly Press, BR Business Report and 225 Magazine's 2021 People to Watch. He is also a guest on multiple podcasts.
Jackson's vision of transforming undeveloped land in Louisiana has turned into something no one has ever seen before. He has transformed Baton Rouge into a family-oriented and friendly place to gather and enjoy the environment, along with some outstanding food.
